„Evolution“

Release: 15.09.2017

Ever since the release of her trendsetting debut album “Not That Kind” in 2000, Anastacia is ranked one of the most successful, popular and glamorous artists within the world of pop.  She is a charismatic, exceptional singer who gains a steadily growing fan community around the globe with her indescribably strong and rocking soul voice for two decades now.  Also off stage she samples one true girl of power, fighting strikes of fate that just made her stronger. After she celebrated her own resurrection with the album “Resurrection” three years ago, following the battle of a fatal disease, the indestructable pop-rock-phenomenon is now taking the next step in her development with “Evolution”.

With hits like „I’m Outta Love“, „Paid My Dues“, „Left Outside Alone“ or „Sick & Tired“, which got celebrated around the globe, Anastacia moved the audience, made them dance and contemplate. There is one important message that you can also find in the new album of the US world star: Face all challenges bravely, fight and stand up again when life knocks you down. “Nothing came to me naturally, I’ve worked hard for everything. Only if you work hard for certain things, you really get to value it”, reveals th 48 year old music and style icon. This motto earned her top #1 chart positions in 19 countries, gold, silver and platin for her 30 mio globally sold CDs, more than 100 mio youtube views and various international awards like 6 MTV awards, 4 ECHOS, three World Music Awards, three Brit Awards, three Goldene Europa Awards, the Woman’s World Award, Bambi, Goldene Kamera and much more.

Her cooperation with high class colleagues like Umberto Tozzi (#1 hit single “Ti Amo”) and Eros Ramazzotti (#1 hit single “I Belong To You”) as well as her participation in the BBC show “Strictly Come Dancing” (2016) gave her the reputation to be one of the most versatile artists of her time. The Chicago raised singer was on her highly celebrated world tour for the past two years which consisted of more than 200 mostly sold out shows. In the meantime she went back into the studio to create the most intimate and multifacted album of her career so far – “Evolution”. Together with Swedish producer Anders Bagge (Celine Dion, Madonna, Jennifer Lopez) Anastacia recorded 13 songs in Stockholm, they all ooze self-confidence and vital energy. “I wanted to work with Anders so bad. Sadly, he refuses to board a plane so I had to go back and forth inbetween my tour. But it was worth it. The songs just wanted to escape me! Although the shows were exhausting, they gave me an uneblievable creativity boost.”

Anastacia is telling her personal story on her new LP. Everything from her troubled start into the music world to her current cult status is covered by the passionate music lover who released her 2nd #1 album “Freak of Nature” in 2001. It is a honest, emotional resumé in which doesn’t just cover the sunny moments of her life. “In every decade of my life so many things happened” remembers the daughter of a singer and an actor. “I’ve gone through so many highs but also so many lows. I’ve witnessed so many fantastic moments but also moments in which I was totally broken up. You can find all that in the songs, and of course also the lessons I’ve learnt through that.”

Professional success was followed by private tragedies like her divorce and finally the diagnosis of a life-threatening disease (breast cancer), which she battled successfully. For the American singer this was a radical experience that she can talk about openly these days, she also kept her dark sense of humor. “This is also an important part of me. I always feel the light at the end of the tunnel. Often, I can’t really see it but I always believe that it is there somewhere. I was always a fighting nature, I never give up. You always have to think positively; even the most negative things like breast cancer are good for something – even if it’s just to warn other people from the danger and to save some lives this way. This LP describes who I am today. I literally feel grounded. Nothing can knock me off my feet easily these days.”

With “Evolution” Anastacia presents herself on the high of her creativity. An LP that oozes pure energy: Breathtaking rock songs altering with catchy pop songs and emotional ballads that are dominated by Anastacia’s always recognizable soul voice with the marking light scratching from her throat. She herself describes her unusual style mix as “SPRock music” – a fair mix of soul, pop and rock that got mixed with some surprising stylistic elements. Anastacia in her old new power!
“While composing songs I mostly get influenced by melodies. I have sound sequence or a certain basic mood on my mind that inspires the refrain. I drown in my own little world and forget everything around me. I put my headphones on and focus on music only. It so happened that I came into a deserted café and the next time I looked up, hours had gone by and every table was taken!”

With her first single „Caught In The Middle“ Anastacia is giving a sample of the forceful hurricane of sound that she is unleashing in her new album. “The lyrics are about a situation that most people know: You’ve fallen out of love and you just wanna break out of that relationship. But you are caught in it and wonder if it’s better to stay or leave. I can only write about things that I’ve gone through myself or that moved me in some way”. Like the song “Why?” in which Anastacia is looking for explanations: Why is humanity torturing itself and the planet with cruelities that are on the news each day? Not even Anastacia can give a satisfying answer to that but she manages to ease the pain with that song. With the soft ballad “My Everything” she is presenting a so far unknown side of herself. It is a declaration of love that she is not really dedicating to anyone, the singer says. Huh? Anastacia laughs: “I always wanted to write a song that my fans are able to play at their wedding. When I told my manager and record lable about this the first time, they looked at my like I’d turned completely crazy. Today they are admitting, that it has become a beautiful love song which is different to my usual work. I love life and I love love. Even if Earth is a real hell place right now: Love wins, man!”

An indesctructable belief and an equally strong heart of a fighter that Anastacia is revealing in the rock song “Boxer”, the relieving “Not Coming Down” and the encouraging hymn “Stamina”. “We all have to face new challenges in life from time to time and get into the ring. No matter if it’s about relationships, work or other things. At first I wanted to name the album “Stamina” but somehow the word sounded too clinical. I’ve had my fill of hospitals. During songwriting I learned that I’m much stronger than I thought. And this strength and courage is what I wanted to activate in the listener!”

At approximately the same time of her album release for “Evolution” she is also launching a new, exclusive fashion collection that the US singer created together with ALDI SÜD. In 2018 an extensive tour through German venues will follow.
